The Youth Aeronautics Educational Foundation (YAEF) was established to provide youth with educational opportunities to achieve careers in aviation and related studies. Our goal is to be part of the solution in preparing students for 21st century careers.  YAEF is a non-profit 501(c) (3) foundation. A number of the youth in our program  are at-risk and underserved. Our organization promotes activities that will keep youth off the streets and engage them in specialized training which may ultimately lead them towards successful careers.

Please join our mission by subscribing to our website!

The more members that join our organization will help prove on paper the need for more funding in Washington D.C. for educating all youth including underserved. Take action today and help us prove to Congress there are hundreds of thousands of people — not just from aviation but from different walks of life — that passionately care for programs that help the at-risk in our communities. Help us change the face of this country one child at a time. The Youth Aeronautics Educational Foundation fund will provide an outlet for youth and propel youngsters just like the ones in our program to reach higher heights.

    Harvard University Announcement

No tuition and no student loans

Harvard University announced over the weekend that from now on undergraduate students from low-income families will pay no tuition. In making the announcement, Harvard’s president Lawrence H. Summers said, “When only ten percent of the students in elite higher education come from families in the lower half of the income distribution, we are not doing enough. We are not doing enough in bringing elite higher education to the lower half of the income distribution.”

If you know of a family earning less than $60,000 a year with an honor student graduating from high school soon, Harvard University wants to pay the tuition. The prestigious university recently announced that from now on undergraduate students from low-income families can go to Harvard for free… no tuition and no student loans!

To find out more about Harvard offering free tuition for families making less than $60,000 a year, visit Harvard’s financial aid website at: http://www.fao.fas.harvard.edu/ or call the school’s financial aid office at (617) 495-1581.

SEND TO SOMEONE WHETHER THEY CAN USE OR NOT. THEY JUST MIGHT KNOW SOMEONE WHO CAN.

I was not aware of YAEF until I read an article in the Tidewater Review. As a private pilot with instrument and multiengine ratings I know how much structure and discipline it takes to be a pilot. I know it will help any student who reaches that goal. Keep up the good work.

    • Ellen MikaBrown says:

Thank you Larry for your recent visit to our website. We appreciate the input of the community and individuals like yourself, who respond to learning about our organization. We are very excited about our program and excited for the children who come to our classes to learn about aviation and go on to become private pilots. Providing an insight into the world of flying and all the careers that they can pursue in aviation is what we are all about. Thank you for your encouragement and congratulations on your achievements as a pilot.
